Kabir, Sid, Som and Rituraj met during induction program – on the
joining of their respective jobs in the topmost MNC. In that group –
apart from the four of them, who were just college passed out –
everyone else was experienced joiner. They were all allocated
different teams. Still, the need to solve initial problems in a
new city and new job resulted into their lasting friendship.
Years passed - they grew up the ladders - had on-site and customer
facing experiences – matured professionally. Time came for them to
be called as eligible bachelors. Rituraj was the first one to be
engaged among them. He was excited to share the news with his
friends.

He went shopping for engagement ring – selected a solitaire.
Further, called his friends for dinner – and surprised them with
the news. All liked his choice of ring – and discussed plans for
engagement, wedding etc.
It was a grand party on his engagement with Rithima. She was more
beautiful than the the diamond ring, decoration, and lights etc. Like
her own beauty – her selection of ring for Rituraj was also
eye-catching. Rituraj promised her that he would never remove the
ring from his finger.

While Rituraj, and Rithima were enjoying the 'love' part of
their arranged marriage – the friends decided an outing on
a weekend before his marriage – to booze and chill. Fun cannot be
completed without swimming and water-sports – if one is in a resort
and also high. The weather was also nice.

Suddenly, Rituraj noticed his ring finger that the ring was not
there. “Oh God”, he screamed out loud, “I had promised Rithima
to always keep it on”.
It was expensive too. They all started searching for it in the pool.
It was not noticeable. Life-guards came to help, but no use. It was
more than an hour since they were searching for it. Finally, they
came out of the pool – regretting the decision of coming to that
place.
The moment everyone came out of the pool, water started to settle and
Kabir noticed the ring shining in the bottom of the pool. Rituraj
almost came back to his life on the realisation of being able to
continue keeping his promise to Rithima. The incident remained between friends.

Things progressed – marriage – honey-moon – start of a family
life.

Friends were invited for dinner again after Rituraj and Rithima setup
their dream-home. It was a nice and happy moment. Mentioning 'the' outing, Sid narrated the concept of 'let the water be still' to
Rithima that night.

She nodded her head with mixed feelings, and said, “It is
important to understand 'when to wait', 'when to act' and 'when to let
go'”.
Rituraj added, “Probably, it was God's signal for us to
understand and apply this concept in our lives as well”. All smiled and parted wishing good-night to one-another.

Rituraj also felt light that he has everything transparent with Rithima going forward, and slept hugging her tight.
