Light Year to Leap Year

We were talking generally at home, while for some reason, the someone mentioned ‘light year’. My daughter, who is very curious about every thing around her, immediately asked what is light year. I answered that light year is the distance that is covered by light in one year.

First she asked, then why its name — light year — is related to time.

And after understanding that it’s the measurement of distance over one year; her next comment was, “It means light also travels more distance in a leap year.”
